Review: "King of Prey" by Mandy M. Roth

*ARC GIVEN TO BLOG FOR HONEST REVIEW*

About the Book:

Paranormal  Bird Shifter Romance

In a place where realms combine and portals open passages to the unknown, a prophecy speaks of fertility being restored to his people through the taking of King Kabril's mate.

The prophecy neglects to mention she lacks something vital to his kind -- wings. Kabril, King of the Buteos Ragalis has no interest in taking a human mate. His kind believes humans are dirty, vile creatures who rely on machines to lift them into the air. The last place he wants to go in search of his mate is Earth, but he's left no choice.

Never did he expect to find love on a planet with one moon, people who lack wings and a stubborn vixen who makes his heart soar. When he does, he fears the truth about who and what he truly is will steal it away. Little does he know his enemies fully intend on doing the taking.

My Review:

This was a quick and easy read, and while Kabril didn't come across as an alpha in my opinion, it was an okay read. Some of the supporting characters were more to my liking since there's no real surprises or twists in this story, but that could be due to this book being the first in the series. I do, however, know for a fact it gets better with each book. :)

Review: "Loup Garou" by Mandy M Roth

*ARC GIVEN TO BLOG FOR HONEST REVIEW*

About the Book:

Lindsay Willows craves a simple life. One where she can make a difference without drawing too much attention to herself. As the daughter of both a vampire and a fae, the cards were already stacked against her. Finding out she's the supposed mate of a dark fae prince doesn't help matters. Especially when there are those who will stop at nothing to prevent her from mating with a prince she's never even met.

When Exavier Kedmen, the incredibly sexy front man for a world-famous band, shows up wanting her to go back to working in a field she left three years ago, she can't explain the strong feelings that surface for a man she barely knows.

Lindsay finds herself confronting demons from her past, coming to terms with the ones in the present, and finally looking forward to a future with the man she was created for. And she discovers evil doesn't care who it hurts to obtain its goals, but even the evilest of things fear something, or in the case of Exavier, someone.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book so I gave it 5 stars. Lindsay was fun, entertaining, witty, and a total pain in the behind. Lol. Exavier is sexy, adventurous, mysterious, and the two together have amazing chemistry, even if Lindsay doesn't put 2 and 2 together right away.

The sex scenes were hot and steamy, and I especially loved the last couple of chapters with the band and cemetery video. While I was way off in my assumptions of this book when I first started reading it, everything made sense at the end and left me begging for more. Mandy definitely made this a book I'd read over and over again! I can't wait to read the next books in this series!

Review: "Prince of Pleasure" by Mandy M. Roth

*ARC GIVEN TO BLOG FOR HONEST REVIEW*

About the Book:

Book Five in the King of Prey Series
Paranormal Bird Shifter BBW Romance

Youngest born in a family of royal hawk shifters, Rossi is used to dodging responsibility and doing what he wishes. His needs are simple--he likes fighting, and bedding beautiful women. He isn't looking for a mate, so when his meddlesome sister-in-law decides to divine his future, he's stunned to find out he's about to meet her--the one. His mate. And she's human.

As one who does his best to limit his time in the human realm, Rossi believes there is no chance he'll cross paths with the woman destiny has in store for him. After all, it's not as if humans fall from the sky in the realm of bird shifters.

Or do they?

My Review:

I gave this book a 4/5. I LOVE the chemistry between Lucy and Rossi. They're amazing together! She just wanted to prove bird shifters existed, he wasn't looking for a mate and laughs off his sister-in-law's attempts at telling him he'd meet his mate that day. Oh, he so owes her an apology for not believing her.

While this is the fifth book in the series, it works well as a standalone novella. Unfortunately, now I have to read all the other books or I'm going to feel like I've missed out on something amazing and enchanting. :)

Review: "Hunted Holiday" by Mandy M. Roth

*ARC GIVEN TO BLOG FOR HONEST REVIEW*

About the Book:

Dani Malloye hates the holidays, and with good reason. Though her best friend tries to force the Christmas spirit on her with giant Santas and elves that light up, she'd rather spend her time doing what she does best--enforcing paranormal law on the streets of Chicago. Nothing like a little evil bloodshed to lighten the mood.

Besides, work means she can spend time with her sexy boss, Cornell Sutton. Too bad Cornell is uptight, her new neighbor, and a vampire. Everyone knows slayers and vampires don't mix. Or do they?

My Review:

I gave this book a 4/5. I would have preferred it be longer, but since it's a novella, I can't really complain. Dani was fun, outgoing, and a smart-allic. Cornell, while being too pale for my taste, was definitely a lovable vampire. The shoulder-length black hair, dark eyes, and designer clothes added up to a hunk! I couldn't help but love Finn as well, especially when Cornell got annoyed with the "Corny" names. Ha! Typical best friend. :D

Review: "The Guardians" by Mandy M. Roth

*ARC GIVEN TO BLOG FOR HONEST REVIEW*

About the Book:

Butt-kicking Guardian, Madelyn Mason, is the only female in a sea of supernatural males. College student by day, she spends her nights fighting for mankind--the innocents, the ones who have no clue that the things of nightmares walk among the living.

Larger than life Hollywood hunk, Brady Devens, has wont he hearts of millions of adoring fans. But the only heart he wants to win is that of his mate, Madelyn. She hasn't shown any interest in him as anything more than a friend, and he's beginning to think the Powers That Be goofed.

 In this world of magik, mishap, demons, gods, and pleasure nymphs, anything is possible. Can they find a love that transcends time and space or will the Powers That Be decide maybe they weren't destined for one another after all?

 My Review:

I gave this book 4 stars. It was fun, the characters were captivating and entertaining, and the book in general kept my attention long enough to finish in just a couple of days, even with my busy schedule. :)

Madelyn (Mads or Maddy, if you will) was a pretty awesome heroine! She has magik, controls weather (even though she doesn't know it yet), controls four guys that make up gods, demons, kings, and guardians, and is amazing at what she does, even if it does threaten her life on a daily basis.

Brady is the perfect guy, but he can be pretty stubborn, which is why he and Maddy are so right for each other. They butt heads but have a chemistry like no other. He's a king, an obvious hunk, a great actor though he has no chemistry with any of the actresses he films with, and is an all-around sweet guy, even if I wanted to change his channel because he refused to listen. :)

This book kept me on my toes. I'd start reading a section, think I knew exactly what was going on, and BAM! I was completely off! Definitely a must read if you enjoy vampires, lycans, werewolves, magik, or just paranormal in general.

Review: "Blaze of Glory" by Mandy M. Roth

*ARC GIVEN TO BLOG FOR HONEST REVIEW*

 About the Book:

Sheriff Jonathan MacSweeny is in charge of keeping the peace in Prospect Springs. Frontier living isn't what it used to be. It's hard to survive in the New Old West and it's even harder when your area doesn't exactly embrace supernaturals--and you howl at the moon. That being said, he's good at his job and has a reputation with the ladies. When he learns his childhood sweetheart is to be married off to the town sleazebag, he goes in guns blazing to see to it she's his. Problem is, Molly isn't the same girl he remembers from ten years prior. Now she's a gun-toting, foul-mouthed, vixen with a badge of her own.

Special Marshal Molly Cogan never planned to set foot back in Prospect Springs. When her friend gets the harebrained idea to steal her identity in an attempt to protect her from the bounty the outlaws have on her head, Molly finds herself standing right smack dab in the middle of chaos--or home in her case. it isn't long before Jonathan is there, flashing that famous MacSweeny boy smile and tempting her in ways she wasn't prepared for. This heart-hardened Marshal has her work cut out for her if she plans to face her past fears and her past sweetheart.

My Review:

I felt this book was a 4 out of 5 stars. The book was a little short, but was fun and exciting in all the right ways. While I loved that Molly was brave and independent, I hated how ditzy she was. Instead of asking Jon outright whether he was married, she assumed the rumors she heard were true. Then leading him to believe she was engaged, knowing they both had feelings for each other, was kind of a low blow. Though I can give her a little leeway after the way she was treated by Gerald. Jonathan is probably my favorite character here, but Cole comes in a close second. Jon's got breathtaking good looks, is witty, and puts the boys of his family in their place when they're skirting his patience. He's definitely what I would consider a dream-man! To sum it all up, aside from Molly's ditzy blonde moments (no offense intended), the book was really fun and I enjoyed every moment of it!

You're not supposed to want the one who torments you.

When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn't prepared for how much of a jerk he'd be.

I hated that he took it out on me because he didn't want to be here.
I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.

At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then, things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.

Just as quickly as he'd come into my life, he was gone back to California.

It had been years since I'd seen Elec.

When tragedy struck our family, I'd have to face him again.

And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane.

I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again.

Review: "Raising Ryann" (Bad Boy Reformed Series) by Alyssa Rae Taylor

 About the Book:

Twenty-year-old Reese Johnson can finally leave her troublesome past behind. She enters college with her best friend, Gia, and spends her time doing what she loves—working as a self-defense instructor at a local gym. Then Luke Ryann enters the picture. He’s the tall, dark, and tattooed MMA fighter her boss hires to privately train her. One minute, he captivates her with his piercing brown eyes and boyish dimples. The next, he infuriates her with his relentless banter and cocky bad boy behavior. He’s the last thing she wants or needs, and she never expects to fall in love with him.

Luke’s jaded past has him keeping a safe distance. Despite what he feels, some things are better left alone. He has a dangerous secret—one that has the potential to risk their lives. As he fights the attraction between them, can he resist the growing tension and protect the woman he’ll never be able to have?

Raising Ryann, the first book in the Bad Boy Reformed Trilogy, isn't just a fighter romance. This story is filled with action, suspense, mystery- even a touch of humor.

Recommended for mature audiences due to situations of abuse, violence, strong language and sexual content.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Review:
 I absolutely loved this book!
You get to experience how Luke and Reese met, parts of their past, and what made them each who they are now. I love that Reese is a strong woman. The fact she teaches self-defense after a horrible childhood incident that Luke saved her from is amazing! I enjoyed seeing her strive to help young girls defend themselves against the evil out in the world, even if they never come across it.
Luke was definitely my favorite character in this story. He's witty, outgoing, and an all-around amazing guy. He's supportive, a bad boy, but still a romantic at heart. The fact he's a tattooed hunk is just an added bonus! You can't help but fall in love with him every time he defends Reese while still allowing her to fight her own battles - it's that kind of man we all search for in our own lives.
Together this duo is witty, fun, and their chemistry is mind-blowing! I couldn't help but laugh and smile as they'd have a friendly banter.
Where this book left off saddened me since Reese puts her heart on her sleeve and Luke ends up needing to leave, although it was a good cliffhanger for book 2! I give this book a 5 star review.
Review: "Special Offers" by M.L. Ryan (The Coursodon Dimension Series)
About the Book:
Hailey Parrish is quick-witted, irreverent, and hasn’t had a date in three years. She only wanted an eBook reader because her collection of paperbacks threatened to take over her small living space. Little did she know that the "special offers" that prompted the purchase included much more than a reduced price in exchange for a few ads. The device came pre-loaded with the essence of Sebastian Kess, an erudite womanizer with magical abilities from a parallel dimension. When she inadvertently releases him and he inhabits her body, she finally has a man inside her, just not in the way she imagined. And soon her predicament introduces her to yet another supernatural, the handsome could-be-the-man-of-her-dreams Alex Sunderland. Can Alex and Hailey find a way to return Sebastian to his own body and stay one step ahead of the criminals who want to keep him where he is?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My Review:

I have to admit, I wasn't so sure the book would be something that interested me, but within just a few pages, I was pretty into it and laughing right along with Hailey! I'm not someone who likes a book that takes forever to get to the point. Books like that force me to put them down (or in this case, delete them from my Kindle), and never bother with attempting to read more.

In all honesty, I loved this book - part of this could be the fact I didn't find many, if any, typos. This makes me a VERY happy reader! The storyline was realistic, there was research done about Arizona (the Arizona-Sorona Desert Museum) as well as the inhabitants of the desert. I loved when Sebastian would silence Hailey with his quick retorts to her self-consciousness. The fact she would keep her eyes closed when changing or taking a shower the moment she realized he could see what she saw had me laughing out loud each and every time!

Alex and Sebastian make a great team. Both are stunningly handsome - Alex has a swimmer's body (lean and fit) with blonde locks, while Sebastian has that rugged, chiseled, and muscular body we all dream of - and both have very different personalities even though Sebastian is Alex's mentor. Of course both tend to be smartasses, which makes them a great addition to Hailey's witty personality. You can't help but fall in love with them!

I wasn't thrilled with the fact I was left with a cliff-hanger because I enjoyed the book so much, but it was a good place to end. :)

So I give it a 5 star review, not only for the spectacular writing skills M.L. Ryan offers, but for reeling me in to all the fun and chaos that is "Special Offers". I just wish the Kindle I'd been reading on had been nice enough to share the entertainment that is Sebastian. ;)
